Many businesses are running a tough race at half power, claims article
If your Formula 1 car was running on only half its available horsepower, what would be your chances of winning a race? Not very good, right? According to a recent article appearing in Alberta Venture magazine, about 50% of companies are trying to win in their chosen business with this same amount of people-power.
“Moderate engagement companies have 45 to 65 percent of workers ruled to be engaged,” claims the article. “It’s particularly concerning that managers and senior managers in those low-engagement organizations are really, really disengaged.” The article adds that companies with lower numbers of engaged employees are slower to rebound from difficult economic times.
Of the 20 factors that can improve engagement, the article claims that the most important factors to employees include, “management performance, career opportunities and recognition.”
